NSW: Nine dead on NSW roads so far
It's been a heart-breaking start to the Christmas holidays with 12 people killed on
the roads - nine in New South Wales.
The latest victim was a 24-year-old woman who died instantly when the car she was in
overturned on the Princes Highway at Ulladullah on the NSW south coast early today.
In one of the worst accidents, a baby boy was orphaned after his parents were killed
in a three-car crash near Tamworth in north-western NSW on Friday.
Police are repeating their warning to motorists to slow down and avoid fatigue in a
bid to reduce the carnage.
One person has been killed in Victoria, one in South Australia and one in Queensland.
(Eds: National road toll figures are for the period 0001 December 22 to 2359 January
7 AEDT. Some states and territories have different periods.)
